Healthy and Happy is a program of weekly meetings dedicated to educating and supporting people to become healthier and happier, inside and out.  In these meetings you will be given an easy formula for weight loss, which is not only very basic to follow, it helps you move out of consuming lots of unhealthy packaged foods, and gives you tools for managing snacking, meals and eating out.

Besides the basic formula introduced to all who come to a session, each hour long meeting includes:

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND PRACTICAL, DOWN TO EARTH ADVICE AND COUNSELING:

As a Certified Co-Active Life Coach specializing in weight management, my focus is helping people see the connection between their internal, emotional selves, and their tendency to abuse food.The beginning of each meeting is dedicated to a personal check in with participants to address what is REALLY going on in their lives which keeps them from dealing with their health and well-being, as well as discussion on practical methods for creating a healthier life.

EDUCATION:

Each weekly meeting will cover a specific topic including:

~Nutritional labels: what is really in this food?

~Artificial and natural sweeteners

~Food addictions

~Food sensitivities, such as gluten or lactose intolerance

~Healthy food choices: What do I eat if I stop eating my usual foods?

~Eating out: giving up fast foods and chain restaurants

~Healthy food products (including sampling and food manufacturers coming and discussing their product)

~Cooking demos! Learn to cook the healthy way

~Vegetarian and vegan diets: is this for you?

~Health myths and facts

~Food production and making more politically correct choices when shopping

MOVEMENT:

Each meeting includes 15-20 minutes of some sort of physical movement. Most meetings we take a walk, just to get ourselves up out of chairs and being active. Some meetings we have guest instructors lead 20 minutes of Zumba, or pilates, or other movement, so participants get exposed to different teachers in the area, and different types of classes one might take. This part of my meetings is optional for those who do not wish to or cannot participate.
